Great Dane, also referred as Dane or Gentle Giant, came from Mastiff-type dogs, though they are considered more elegant, athletic with a muscular body, and more refined.
Grooming wise, the coats of these Gentle Giants are easy enough to maintain. Just have a routine of combing and brushing their coats whenever necessary and they’re good to go. Just mind that their nails must be trimmed regularly.
Because of his size, a Great Dane puppy does not stay little for a long while. That’s why it’s important that during his puppy phase, owner must housetrain the Dane to not jump over or lean on people or stuff at home.
As his nickname implies, a Great Dane is a “Gentle Giant.” A giant that is usually demonstrative of love and playfulness. Dane is also patient with children.
Dane loves kids. When a Great Dane is raised in a household with children from puppyhood, the affection between the dog and the children will be obvious.
