Hydrogen gas is worth $100 billion in the commercial market today -- because of its expensive production – and huge amounts of greenhouse gases as byproducts. But this could all change. According to the chemistry journal ‘Angewandte Chemie’, a team of
Virginia Tech researchers have discovered a way to extract large quantities of hydrogen from any plant – with the potential to bring a low-cost, environmentally friendly fuel source to the world.
This new environmentally friendly method utilizes renewable natural resources -- releases almost zero greenhouse gasses -- and is very inexpensive. This technology could find its way in the market in three years if all works as planned.
