The team which manages the election of US President Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit against the Washington Post newspaper for publishing a ‘false’ report regarding the impact of the 2016 presidential election results.
A spokesman for Trump’s electoral team said on Tuesday that the team alleges that the Washington Post published a ‘false’ report regarding the alleged conspiracy with Russia to influence the 2016 election results.
The team also filed a lawsuit against the New York Times newspaper last week. The New York Times has also been sued on almost the same charges.
“President Donald Trump’s team has today filed a lawsuit against the Washington Post for printing two incorrect reports,” the election team said in a statement.
According to the information given in the court, this report was published by the newspaper on 13 June and 20 June 2019.
