We got news out of Wyoming and that’s Liz Cheney, daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, is running for Senate and launching a primary against incumbent Mike Enzi.
Enzi has served in the Senate since 1997 and while a fairly safe conservative vote, he has often appeared in those infamous “Gangs of” who try to pass bipartisan legislation of whatever is the major topic being debated in Congress.
Anyway, Wyoming is ridiculously red and its all but a cinch that the winner of this contest (should Enzi stay in the race) will go on to win the general. This isn’t great for Wyoming though as Enzi has been a pretty decent Senator for them and I don’t think the NRSC will want someone with the last name “Cheney” running against one of their own.
