Breaking Dawn: Part II (2012) Review

The end was eventually here for Twilight and Breaking Dawn Part II was released last week with a very high number of viewers attending cinema screenings. Pretty much like the whole of the Twilight Saga, as you may know I was sucked in my the books and loved them up until half way into Breaking Dawn when I stopped reading.

Therefore I didn’t actually know what was going to happen in this film, I don’t know if that was a good or a bad thing. I guess in the end the ending is exactly how you expect it to be. But I will say one thing that this is probably the better out of the films? Erm, yes it probably is. While they are not great they do have such a huge following and fan base to go with it.

Anyway we pick up where Part I left off and Bella becoming a Vampire after giving birth. We find out that Jacob has imprinted on the baby (make of that what you will, if you don’t know about the films or books that may sound strange). Other than that everything seems very happy for the Cullen’s.

Or so it seems but don’t forget about the Voltari headed by Aro (Michael Sheen) and what they will have to do to the child and the Cullen’s. But everything is not as it seems, is a great battle really as it seems as well? Obviously I was none the wiser about this due to not finishing the book so I fell for the little twist. Which I will not spoil, as it quite shocked me but I found that very good at the same time.

I will admit that at the end I actually found myself getting a little emotional and filled up slightly when they managed to fit in a small flashback part. Honestly I am probably more shocked than you about that, but my friend felt the same way! It was a nice little way to finish off the film and with Alice’s vision as well, found that better than flashing forward 20 years or something!

I couldn’t help but actually laugh at a few different things throughout the film and I am pretty sure that it was not meant to be funny at all, but I couldn’t help it when somethings were so cheesy and corny. But this is my no means the worst of the Twilight Saga. I guess by now we have learnt not to expect very much at all from these films?

Now we just have to wait and see what the future holds for Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. Although I think in some roles already they have proven that they can actually act very well! Thoughts?
