Story: Breaking Bounds starts when a gay African man Eric Deng (McKnight) gets arrested for shooting a homosexual Uber driver who put his life in danger. David (Okolie) is assigned the case to defend the driver who is facing deportation. Meanwhile, David finds his personal life getting complicated with Lola (Halfkenny).
As the case rolls on, David finds himself going up against a rival in Santiago Estevez (Villamil). The two have been rivals since law school and now they both have Lola’s attention. David finds the case becoming a lot more personal to his own personal background as he challenges what is the right thing to do.
Verdict on Breaking Bounds
Breaking Bounds is a drama following a defence attorney that gets a new case that leaves him questioning his own beliefs. He must defend a young gay man that is facing deportation to a country that would punish him for being gay. Elsewhere, he must put his own life in order with the woman he loves.

2022 | Confess, Fletch Trailer (RATED R)This movie does get to put forward a big message about homosexual rights. It shows how certain countries are still backward thinking about it. This puts lives at risk and this case shows the delicate subject through the court system. However, this story does get held back by the focus on the romantic side of David’s life. Nothing on this side of the story is as interesting as the court case, which is always second fiddle to a more intriguing story.
Final Thoughts – Breaking Bounds loses focus on the more interesting story at hand.
