Diane Von Furstenburg. DVF. A name synonymous with iconic, amazing, strong woman, and THE wrap dress.

I got the email invitation to a breakfast with Diane (let’s pretend we’re on a first name basis) during her Dallas visit.  SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!  I was screaming and jumping for joy (internally because I was holding baby and just got him to nap so I decided to check email with my free hand)!!!  Um, YES, I’d be going.  And it just happened to be on a weekend when Mr. S would be home to babysit.  It was kismet!

It was a social breakfast at the DVF Boutique in Highland Park Village.  We enjoyed served frittatas, mimosas, and a reveal of her beautiful Cruise 2014 Collection {color, embellishments, lace – my kind of collection}.  The ambience of the store screams DVF – so glamorous.  That first picture is a candid I snapped of her.  Isn’t she just beautiful as she speaks?!

Within 5 minutes of walking in the door, she approached me and introduced herself.  Obviously, no introduction needed!!!  That just demonstrates her modesty and humbleness.  She graciously spoke to everyone and treated us all like friends.  I was so excited when she signed my purchased copy of  The Wrap Book.  I wished I would have had her sign the scarf too – darn!!

Next year, Diane is celebrating the 40th anniversary of her iconic wrap dress!  Even SHE is impressed with the longevity of the amazing wrap dress.  She loves it when people tell her their story about the dress – wearing it on a first date, first interview, etc.  To celebrate this milestone, she has a website where people can share their experiences at DVFwrapstory.com.  She said that all of the photos and stories will be compiled to make a book!  So now YOU have a chance to participate and a be a part of history!

What an amazing way to spend a Saturday morning!  Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! xx
