At first I was planning to write one review on the hotel, which will include everything, the rooms as well as the breakfast experience… But when I saw the nylon covers all over the breakfast choices, among other things, I changed my mind… There was a lot to talk about…

Located on the “M” level of the hotel, breakfast is served every morning at Al Madafa restaurant… Let’s enjoy the first meal of the day. As you walk out of the elevator, a waiter takes down your room number and welcomes you into a large island in the middle of the restaurant. You’ll find pastries, hot dishes, eggs, sausages, cereals, cheese and much more.Breakfast is divided into five sections: the main buffet, the bread and toasting section, cereals and milk, juice bar and on the other side of the restaurant is the saj and eggs station.

Four cereals bowls

While walking around the buffet I couldn’t but notice two major disturbing issues.

The lack of organization; bowls are mixed together, fruits are placed next to pastries, croissants next to muffins. It’s chaotic and unappealing to the eyes…
The lack of reasonable choices; what I mean by that is that there are dozens of bread based products but only one bowl of fruits (melon) and one bowl of a vegetables (tomatoes). These two healthy items should have a bigger share at breakfast for the healthy conscious guests.

The food:

The omelets are super oily and tasteless. With no seasoning, an excess of oil is felt in every bite
The cheese saj is too heavy in the morning. Uncooked dough and tasteless cheese
Labneh is way too commercial, too lemony and acidic
Croissant is acceptable, an interesting crunchy dough but a faded taste. It can be better
The donut is a huge NO. I bit a piece and spitted it back out: thick, hard and unpleasant to chew
The consistency of the muffin is fine but lacks body and taste

What I’ll change:

The main disturbing thing are the nylon wrappings over the food. How unappetizing it is to see plates covered with nylon… in a five star
The staff should be more welcoming, smiling, joyful. They should act like the staff at a five star hotel. For one, they should stop their chitchatting here and there
The choices should be more organized
They should propose an ‘la carte’ menu that offers items like Eggs Benedict among other international favorites
The restaurant smells of fried food and cooked eggs: It’s too much. Expect your clothes to absorb it all…
Cleanliness: PLEASE!

Conclusion: Tasteless food that not worth the money and definitely not worth waking up early for…
