London's Bread Collective have just finished painting their latest project "The Walls have Ears', a 100m long mural in Hackney Wick. Having secured funding from the London Legacy Development Corporation the Bread Collective set about painting the wall on an unloved street, leading to the Olympic Park in East London.
The six-month project involved various workshops, interviews, research and a blog-style website and social media to engage the local community. The mural was all based on what was made in the past in the factories in Hackney Wick and the typographic styling references the old hand painted factory signs and canal boats of the area. Check the project video below or better still head out to Hackney Wick and check the wall yourself.
