Hirana Police stated that a 14-year-old school boy who was on his way to a tuition class, died on the spot after being run over by a car driven by a woman with an ‘L’ board hanging on it.
The deceased student was identified as Vihanga Sadew De Silva (14), a resident of Pinwala in Panadura. The boy studying in Grade 9 of Panadura Royal College was studying in a class that includes more gifted students. The body is lying at the Pandura hospital.
The woman arrested by the Hirana Police was produced before Panadura Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
