Dawn opened to 4.1 in late showings last night, off to a solid start. The first film was well received, and the second film is getting terrific reviews as well. People have complained about the lack of epic films this summer. This could be the film to change that feeling, if audiences love it as much as the critics have. The first film opened to 54M on its way to 176M. It’s safe to say Dawn will beat that.
2) Transformers 4- 18M Weekend, 210M Total
A 50% drop to 18M is probably in store, since Apes will pull in the action crowd.
3) Tammy- 10M Weekend, 55M Total
With poor reviews and bad word of mouth, Tammy will fall over 50%.
