Box Office Predictions: Slowest Weekend Of The Year

Posted on the 05 September 2014 by Sirmac2 @macthemovieguy

This weekend is already historically the worst weekend of the year for box office attendance. To top it off, the only new release is some horrific looking D-title from Freestyle Releasing. The film actually had late nights on Thursday, for some ungodly reason. It’s getting terrible reviews. Ashley Judd can’t save this film. Forrest Gump rereleases on IMAX screens this weekend, and if that does well, it could crack the Top 10. IMAX ticket prices are always inflated, so it needs less butts in seats to do better than a regular movie. Something called Innocence opens on 490 screens.

To put this in perspective, The Identical has a 3% on Rotten Tomatoes and Innocence has a 7%. This is not a good week for film. Christian backed The Remaining didn’t even bother to screen for critics.
