Character Face Off Challenge

Create the ultimate character face-off.

Pick two of your all-time favorite characters. They can be from the books you chose for the read-a-thon (or not — totally up to you).

Even though they are both your favourite, you HAVE to choose one as the winner. And tell me why.

Sell me on why this ONE character is your favorite character of ALL characters.

Check out the host blog for more details.

Umm excuse me what? Pick just one favorite character?! What bloody madness is this…  I really don’t think it can be done so I am restricting it to male characters, and from two of my favorite books.

Opponent #1: Jonah Griggs from On The Jellicoe Road

– WHO: Leader of the Cadets, an opposing side of a war.

– CONS: Temper, tormented past

– PROS: Brave, loyal, honest, sexy

Opponent #2: Red from Daughter of the Forest

– WHO: Ruler of a warring land.

– CONS: Kidnapper

– PROS: Protective, loyal, understanding, sexy

Winner: Red

Why: My head is screaming at me to put Jonah down as the winner because he is part of my all time favorite book, but it is failing to give me good enough reasons why. He is an amazing person. He has had to go through so much and the relationship that he and Taylor have is really complicated and beautiful. However, Red though he kidnaps Sorcha, then spends every waking moment to understanding her and doing everything for those he loves. Jonah remembers what Taylor likes to have for breakfast, but Red learns how to communicate and understand Sorcha though she never utters a word or makes a noise. He was willing to let her go to try and make her happy, then gave up everything he knew and loved to be with her.

Till Next Time…
