Back in March I wrote about how Bose is eagerly awaited New real wireless earbuds have been delayed, with a Bose spokesman who told me "product development was taking longer than expected" and was reinforced by Corona virus Problems. The 500 earphones, which I previewed in a post and video last June, were not released in 2019 and only released in 2020. The Noise Canceling 700 earbuds, the company's response to Apple's AirPods Pro, were always planned for this year, but have not yet occurred. However, what appears to be an early version of the latter headphones has mysteriously surfaced on YouTube.
A Bose spokesman declined to comment on the post. She said she would share new product information as soon as she was able to.
The box in the video that was released last week has the letters FPO. In the printing and graphics world, this usually means that the packaging graphics are a placeholder and not final (only for position). In fact, the words "Noise Canceling 700 Earbuds" don't appear on the box, just "Bose QuietComfort Earbuds", which may mean that Bose plans to use QuietComfort branding. The inside of the case also has glossy plastic that doesn't look final (Bose is usually given a matte finish), and the manual pages were blank. Read anything you want.

There are some specs on the back of the box, but it's unclear whether they're absolutely correct. The battery life is six hours and you receive two additional charging processes from the charging case, which can be charged wirelessly or via USB-C. There is both noise cancellation and transparency mode.
Josh Quill, the YouTube poster, didn't seem to have much information about the earbuds. When he replied to the commentators, he said that he thought they could come out in December and that he didn't know how much they would cost. He wouldn't answer how he got the device, but like I said, it looks very similar to the renderings Bose has on his website (scroll down the page). His only other published videos show a museum in Torrance, California, as well as a closed mall and cinemas in Northern California, all released in 2016.

I think both the Earbuds 500 and the Noise Canceling 700 Earbuds - or whatever Bose calls them - will arrive before the Christmas shopping season. But whether that's in the next month or two or closer to Thanksgiving is hard to say. What is certain is that Bose has had a challenge in recent months: the company 119 branches closed in North America, Europe, Australia and Japan, replaced his CEO and apparently scrapped Bose AR, its young augmented reality audio platform. Suffice it to say that it can't afford dropouts, especially when it comes to a hot category like real wireless earbuds.
