Bose fans haven't been so patiently waiting for the company to release its ever-delayed true next-generation wireless earbuds. If an official launch video courtesy of Australian retailer Harvey Norman is any indication, it seems that the product formerly known as the Noise Canceling Earbuds 700 will soon be available under a new name: The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds.
The company announced two new true wireless models last year. The Earphone 500 - now called Sports Earbuds according to Bose's UK website Preview last June and should be delivered in 2019, but has been postponed to 2020. The Noise Canceling Earbuds 700 were not due to ship until this year, but many were hoping both new earbuds would ship in early 2020 as several competing models hit the market. An early version of the new noise canceling earbuds appeared in July mysteriously appeared on YouTubeSo the anticipation for an official start has increased. The QuietComfort Earbuds launch video features some key product highlights and specifications. Bose touts its noise cancellation because the world's "most effective" and "groundbreaking acoustic innovations" result in "crisp, crisp audio and deep bass." There's a specially designed microphone array for "clear" calls with up to 6 hours of battery life (one hour better than) Apple's AirPods Pro) and the buds are sweat and weather resistant, although an IPX rating is not listed.

They come in black or white and come with Bose's StayHear earplugs, which are very comfortable and should keep the buds securely in your ears. Although no price was given, I suspect they'll cost around $ 250 to match the AirPods Pro's prices.
The link to the launch video was first posted on a Reddit forum, and it's unclear whether Harvey Norman broadcast the video live ahead of schedule. While some Reddit commenters said the long delay robbed them of their enthusiasm for the new earbuds, one can only hope that the wait was worth it and that the QuietComfort earbuds live up to the bill.
I think the name change was a smart move. Bose tossed its QuietComfort branding aside when it launched its full-size logo Noise Cancellation 700 Headphones, and that was a mistake. Sports earbuds sound better than 500 earbuds, so Bose may finally get together after a seemingly rough 2020.
The company just did it Name the first female manager, Lila Snyder. It started on September 1st, maybe just in time to debut some new earbuds.
