That these facts are lost on the builders who would gentrify the place into homogeneity is a cause for concern.
One developer has covered its building site with slogans and quotes – presumably to spoonfeed the new vanilla Soho-ites they hope to entice with fodder for their Twitter feeds.
I suppose praise is due in their selection of the great thinkers of the age: the Oompah Loompas and Boris Johnson…
