Bored of 'Selfie' ............ Post a 'Petsie'....

In this beautiful World ~ life is all about self … the “I” specialists !! – In Facebooks, it is all about updates of what self does or ‘selfies’… people incessantly post – status updates – loads of information of what they did, where they had been – mundane things like ‘at Railway station’ – ‘at hotel’ – ‘seeing newly released movie’… ‘watching cricket match’ … and more…. all in the hope that there will be lot of ‘likes’ from their friends and admirers ! ~ expecting from people whom they want to ‘like’… does getting 100 ‘likes’ is in anyway meaningful ? ~ or are the ‘likes’ – for the post, the photo, the subject matter or for the person posting it…. – there may not be answers – but, simply – people ‘like’, ‘enjoy’ and drive great pleasure .. life is all about being cheerful, happy and making others happy – so no better place than Facebook or similar networking site.  …. Sometimes people post ‘sickening selfies’……..  Selfie is a term discussed by photographer Jim Krause in 2005, although photos in the selfie genre predate the widespread use of the term. In the early 2000s, before Facebook became the dominant online social network, self-taken photographs were particularly common on MySpace.  Selfie - typically "an amateurish, flash-blinded self-portrait,  typically taken with a hand-held digital camera or camera phone, and are usually taken in a slightly tilted manner.  People flood their walls – with selfies, photos of self, photos of their families; photos of groups where they are seen prominently…………….. and can you imagine – what comes next…….. if not, read this post – reproduced from Daily Mail Uk.
This article of 17^th Feb 14 states that a survey has revealed that two-thirds of animals owners are more likely to post pictures of their pets online than family or friends. Two thirds of Brits are more likely to post pictures of their pets than their family on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to new research. Dogs, cats and even guinea pigs feature more than family portraits or photos from events like weddings and birthdays, said the survey by Samsung Digital Imaging. The boom in sharing photos on social media has simply highlighted the nation's obsession with its furry friends, leading to a trend dubbed 'Petsies' - an animal version of selfies. A survey of 2,000 pet owners by Samsung, ahead of its sponsorship of Crufts 2014, found 62 per cent regularly upload Petsies to Facebook, Twitter and other similar sites. The poll, which also coincides with the Kennel Club's 'Dog Photographer of the Year' competition, showed 16 per cent who say HALF of all their shared photos are of their pets. While dogs and cats make up the bulk of the pictures, rabbits and guinea pigs were among other animals that also get featured regularly on status updates and Tweets, it added. Pet owners share an average of six photos a week of their pets but just five a week of their friends and family - though most consider their dog or cat to be a family member anyway. One in four (25 per cent) put up a picture of their pooch or moggy on the animal's birthday and 23 per cent of the four legged friend's latest holiday. The research comes as Samsung Digital Imaging launches an online search to find the country's best 'Petsies' via online specified website. The competition will be judged by a panel including Made In Chelsea star and pug owner Millie Mackintosh. There is also a community for pets titled  ‘Petsie’ that has over 80 000 furry friends already!  Over here, one can find tens of thousands of other pet owners from Petsie with whom one  can discuss about pet care or just browse through their images and videos.
