Day three of Revival Bootcamp started with a gym session that followed on to an outdoor non emotional gym circuit. If you have ever wondered what it’s like to feel like you have no friends and no one loves you try a non emotional circuit. It’s tough because you aren’t quite sure that the workout will ever end, you can’t speak to anyone and you have no sense of achievement or encouragement. The aim is to improve mental stamina and perform without the protection of a team. In short, it’s scary and it will probably make you cry. But it’s OK, it makes grown men cry so feel free to blub away.
Speaking of grown men, you can find lots of pics of the Revival team ( and me in a beanie) on my Facebook page. Once we were allowed to talk to each other again we drank a veggie juice and slipped on our swimsuits for another pool session. Volleyball lifted our spirits and soon we were all giggling away trying not to get forfeits. After already having to run a lap of the pool in my flip flops (brrrrrrrr) I was determined not to lose ever again. I also had the lovely Sophie Anderton on my team who happens to kick ass when it comes to volleyball. After a speedy sauna session, it was time for more boxing. This session is the reason I can never hear the song Roxanne without thinking of my abs. We held the plank position for the full length of the song and raised onto our hands every time we heard Roxanne! We also got shown some self defence moves that I’m definitely going to try should anyone try to mug me, stalk me or deny me carbs on my return from bootcamp.
Skinny pizza made with spelt flour and veggies…
After dinner we had a quiz. I’ve never experienced a carb free quiz before but unlike most quizzes enjoyed with wine and chips, common sense eludes you and you find yourself unable to answer the easiest of questions. Needless to say I came last. Jan popped in to say goodnight to the girls and I have to say it was just like having a temporary mom to make home feel a little closer.
