Sal Brooks would have described herself in a police report as early thirties, female, brown hair, five nine, exhausted, borderline breakdown case, shaking hands, haunted eyes. Bookburners is a treat to read. Who doesn't love a little demon hunting? Bookburners reminded me of one of my favourite TV shows - Warehouse 13. I loved the mythology of the series. The characters are all a bit crazy but fascinating and as flawed as to be expected. I was a bit worried about different writers working on each episode in case this created continuity errors or the tone and style was different but this was never an issue. The different writers work well together and the storytelling was seamless. I felt like I took an unusually long time to read the first season and think Bookburners would have been better reading the series every week instead of in a huge chunk. I absolutely loved the first season of Bookburners and look forward to season two.
