What I Thought
I loved Wool, absolutely loved it. I'm a fan of dystopian fiction. I've read quite a lot of it recently and Wool is among the best. I've never read Hugh Howey before. I definitely want to read more of this author.
HOLSTON
I really liked this. It was a strong start to the series. I liked the tension and suspense and the fact that you're given so little information about what's going on. I found the ending quite shocking.
PROPER GAUGE
I liked how this novella developed the world inside the Silo a lot more. Much more information is given and you get a better idea about the characters. I liked the sense of place and the dark turn towards the end.
CASTING OFF
Wow! Can I just say - wow! Things really pick up in this novella. The Silo's dark secrets are revealed. I loved every word.
THE UNRAVELLING
This was favourite novella. All of threads of the previous novellas come together. I thought all the turn the story took and the shocking, sad and always surprising revelations blew me away. Just when you think you have something figured out, events go in a completely different direction.
THE STRANDED
This was a brilliant end to a brilliant book. The surprises just kept coming and coming, right until the end. I liked the optimistic ending after all the drama and crisis.
Wool is an excellent example of dystopian fiction and I'd highly recommend it. I can't wait to read Shift and Dust.
