Dorothy stood outside the small house. It was a pretty house, if somewhat quaint considering the rich and lustrous buildings to either side. In the Emerald City, all things were magnificent - all except this one small house. Which made it even peculiar, considering who lived here.
The Wizard in Wonderland combines two of my favourite things - Alice in Wonderland and the Oz books by L Frank Baum. I love Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass and I'm a huge fan of alternative versions of both. The best examples are the Wicked books by Gregory Maguire and the Insanity series by Cameron Jace. I thought Glick combined both stories well. I liked Dorothy Gail looking for the wizard in Wonderland and Alice's adventures in Oz with Glinda and Ozma. I read all of the Oz books last year. I liked the way Glick took certain details and facts from the Oz books and incorporated them into The Wizard in Wonderland.
I look forward to reading the next book in the series, Dorothy Through The Looking Glass.
