Review:
I’ve been jumping on and on but I can’t seem to find the right book for me, or maybe I’m just not in the mood? But dang! After I read the first few pages of this story, I became alert and all the tiredness I felt earlier that night just magically gone!
I’m not sure what totally made me like this story, was it because the guy has a sexy name? Or was is it simply because I’m drawn to this sexy guy? Or was it because I’m just interested to know what will happen if a player hook up with a shrink? Well, I think it’s all of the above, haha.
I’ve been reading some positive feedback about Melissa Foster but I haven’t tried reading her stories before. I think it’s better late than never eh?
The first encounter of the main characters, Blake and Danica, we’re quite uncommon or should I say a little funny? Well, it all started one day on a coffee shop when Blake accidentally elbowed Danica in the nose. Ouch right? But what’s more hurtful is that, even with the bloody nose and all, Blake still had the guts gaping at other chicks! Yep, what a good way to treat an injured lady ma-men!
Blake is a shameless player and we’ve got to read a lot about that in this book’s first few chapters. I thought at first that his reformation is going to be cliché or something that we already know about, but… surprise! surprise! It wasn’t! I thought at first that it was because of the girl why he decided to change, but that’s not what happened, well, partly. It was because of what he witnessed. I know it’s quite difficult to change especially if that’s what he was used to be doing plus he’s also dealing with a lot of other things too. I like Blake’s character. I don’t know, but there’s something about him that differentiates him to other players. Aside from being the hottest guy to Danica’s eyes, he can be cute too. My favorite was when he said : You like me, like me? to Danica. I don’t know, it just sounded so cute during their confession scene.
Danica on the other hand is professional yet very funny at the same time. It’s been pretty obvious that she’s attracted to Blake, and after all her sexy side comments about him in her head, I don’t know how she was able to act professional and give him some good advice lol. Yep, sorry for a bummer, but I guess you already figured it out since I mentioned at first that she’s a shrink. So yep, Blake was her client. I actually love Danica’s character and she’s one heck of a psychiatrist. I mean, she really knows a lot and knows what the right thing to say especially to people that needed advice and to stir them to the right decision. I think she’s one of the few female characters that I truly love. She’s not pushy, not trashy, not stupid (until one time she pissed off Blake about her hurtful assumptions, but hey, she’s drunk ), considerate, nice and all other traits I could possibly like for a heroine.
This story was surprisingly entertaining that it made me stayed up so late last night. I’m not particularly sure what makes this story awesome. I guess it was because of the story line? Or because of the fact that this story includes some lessons about life, family, friendship, love and being able to overcome your weakness? Well, I guess it’s all of the above eh?
I’m not sure if there’s even a conflict part, but thinking about it now, I guess there is. (there was?) But I’m happy that the author didn’t dragged that one out too far or else I would have been annoyed by now. The shifting of the characters plus their introduction and description is brief yet you won’t be having a hard time picturing them out. The words used were so very reader friendly too, so that’s definitely a two thumbs up for me. This book only introduces few number of characters so you’ll absolutely don’t have any hard time keeping track of them.
Reading all of those things I’ve wrote above, you are thinking that it deserves a perfect 5-star rating eh? But I’m not sure. We’re still in book 1 and I’ve got two more books from the Snow Sisters series to read. So for now, I’ll be leaving a 4-star rating, but I’ll definitely go back and change it if I think I was wrong.
