Remember Jamie Baker is the explosive and long awaited conclusion to the Jamie Baker trilogy.
Plagued by memory loss, Jamie Baker searches high and low for the answers to who she is, where she comes from, and why she’s able to do things other humans can’t. A not-so-simple task when she’s hiding from the people responsible for her amnesia—an evil scientific research company that wants to capture her at any cost.
When Jamie’s quest for the truth reveals a devastating betrayal from the one person she thought she could trust, she’s forced to team up with a secret military organization in order to ensure her safety and stop Visticorp’s horrific human experimenting once and for all.
Review:
This story has them all! It made me squeal in delight and with love, it made me pissed off (not with the story but with its characters haha), it made me cry (because this story is just too great that I can’t help my tears), and it made me want to jump like an effing kangaroo for what this story is making me feel. This story is just so good that I think that I feel so used. Why is that? Well, this story just made me feel all of my emotions at once and if I’m not gonna finish it sooner, then I’ll roast my brain for sure.
I’ve read the first two books of the Jamie Baker series and not a single one of them disappoints me. That also the reason why I held up my expectations too high that I’m afraid I’ll end up hating this book if it wont reach my expectations. But deym! This story is way beyond what I expected, though I find myself in the edge of losing my blood when I started it with some “scientific” details on what’s happening to Jamie on its first 2-4 pages. Kelly Oram never really disappoints me in this book and the wait is totally worth it.
“Ryan was truly in love with me. Desperately, painfully, tragically in love.”
This story started 6 months after Jamie blow up Viscorps laboratory building at Las Vegas which makes her suffer from amnesia. It was on the second book that she was discovered by Teddy and even had the nerve to lie to her about her name and her identity. That instant, my desire to read the third book is so intense that it was too hard on my part to rein it. But thankfully, this story didn’t disappoint me at all. I’m glad that all those “massive” effort of not picking up Teddy’s character from the book and electrocuted him myself was worth it, haha.
As I’ve said above, the first 2-4 pages was not really what I’ve expected this story gonna start, so I was honestly a bit disappointed to the point that I even think that this would be my most least favorites of all the books from the Jamie Baker series. But deym! I think the author just noticed my disappointment so she gave me what I wanted early on its first chapter, which is the thrill and excitement like what I’ve felt on its first two books. No single chapter in this book made me want to drop it, because if I did, I might lose myself.
“Jamie: Why do you call me Sunshine?
Ryan: Because that’s what you are to me. You are my sunshine. My only sunshine…”
I love everything about this story, that even those 2-4 pages that I’m not quite fond of starting to fade from my memory. I was never a fan of fantasy books, I don’t know why, but when you give me two books, fantasy and the other one romance, I would really picked the second one. But this story is different. It has full of fantasy in it let alone the supernatural thingy, but everytime I read about Ryan and his unconditional love with Jamie, everything just fades and all I could think of is that I love love him. Oops, that didn’t came out right, let me rephrase it, I love love him..Oops, let me try again, I love love this story. There you go,haha.
I love the suspense, the thrill, the agitating scenes, even those cry-worthy scenes, and ofcourse, my all time favorite, the romance haha. I don’t really have any complaints about the story and I never encounter some flaws, which actually I thought I had at first. Considering the number of pages this story have, I really don’t have any idea how Kelly Oram able to put them all together. It’s like reading all 5 books in the A Song of Ice and Fire series from George R.R. Martin in 1 book. So many happenings that I think I’m not going to get tired of it even if I read it over and over again.
I don’t really think I have to tell more about the characters for I’m sure I’m going to say the same thing about them like I did on its previous books. But instead, I’ll just share the things or the traits that I love and hate about them.
So let’s start with Jamie first, well, I’m already used to Jamie’s bossy, stubborn and a lot more “unpleasing” personalities and I learn to somehow liked them on the first two books, but this time, I have to say that I’m quite full of it. She’s so stubborn and so hardheaded that I can’t see any logical meaning about her behavior. But then, when I reached the part where she properly explained herself, then, that’s when I realized that she is right to feel that way, so my “slight” hatred towards her character just faded. And I love love love how witty she can get, and she definitely is one of the ACEs guys, she can banter and tease like them and it was really so entertaining to read it.
Ryan on the other hand is just sooooo perfect. Well, not technically perfect for he also throws some tantrums then and there, but he’s still perfect for me, period! Haha. If there’s really a perfect description for unconditional love, his love for Jamie sure is. I love how patient he is to Jamie and I love how he really knows her. He pays attention and just did everything he could do just for her. Deym Jamie, can I swap position with you please? I really can’t scrape something from my brain that would tell me some traits that I hate about him, because oh well, he’s perfect! But he’s perfect not to the extent that it’ll annoy you. He’s just adorably perfect and I feel good about it. It just seems so natural and I don’t want to question it. Period! Haha.
“He did know me, because he couldn’t have said anything more perfect. He couldn’t be any more perfect. In my dark, dismal, frightening, lonely life, he was a light so bright he was blinding. He burned me all the way to my soul”
And the ending is what I hoped it would be, well, actually it was way beyond what I imagined. I just love it!!! What a great way to end the series indeed!
This story is really worth your while and I highly, as in highly recommending it for you to read it. Though, it’s advisable to read both Being Jamie Baker and More Than Jamie Baker first. And when you done reading this book, please come back and share it with me eh? And let’s fangirl together *wink.
There’s no better way to end this review by quoting Ryan. So be ready to be sweep off your feet.
“Finding my fiancée hasn’t mattered to me since we landed in Colorado, because it’s not Jamie Baker I’m in love with. It’s you I need. If you need to be April O’Neil, or just Angel, or someone entirely new, I don’t care. I just want you.”
