Review:
I am really not feeling well, I have a terrible headache and I feel hot (oops, don’t think it the wrong way haha lol) but I can’t fall asleep, so I grabbed my Kindle instead and read the first book in my reading list. And wooolah! I’m better than ever. and I think I’ll be staying late again tonight haha lol I am going to have an eventful day at work (which turned out that I spent half of it reading this story and only stopped when I finished it, and left me almost half an hour to focus with my job) so even if I still don’t want to go to bed, I was forced to do so. Haaay when can I land a job that would allow me to read all day long?!
This story is actually one of the most difficult for me to write a review, not because it was too revealing (you know what I mean, remember the Fifty Shades of Grey? Haha lol). But because I’m so distracted that I find myself rereading my favorite scenes from the story. That good eh? Well, this book was really great. I love that even if I am just reading its first chapter, it already caught my attention. Or should I say, it’s too romantic that I can’t help myself but be giddy, to the extent that I almost scream haha lol. Kirsty Moseley did it again eh?
And just like the author’s other stories this one also has some lessons that we could all ponder into. Romance with values or lesson-induced story is somewhat my thing now eh? I can’t even will myself to read other stories because I think I am still having a hangover lol.
Honestly, the story’s plot isn’t that new to me. I’ve read and watched movies with the same plot before so when I was in the part where the main characters were introduced, I kinda expected how this story goes. But to my surprise, all of the things I’’ve expected didn’’t happen at all, quite the turn out of the events actually. It just happens so fast that I didn’t see it coming. So yeah, I guess it’ll be safe to say that this story is quite unpredictable. The only concern I have about this book is the way these two main characters were able reveal their feelings for each other. It wasn’t that bad at all, but I just think all stories or maybe most stories have that same analogy and I really don’t like it.
Just like most of Moseley’s other books, this one didn’t have that hard to understand words or phrases, so tucking a dictionary with you wouldn’t be necessary at all. This story only has a few characters so they’re so easy to keep track of. The only complaint I have for Emma’’s (main female) character is that she easily jump up to conclusion which always turned out hurting her own feelings. But I still adore her character because she was able to provide for her daughter and her little brother for such an early age. She’s just 16 when she started supporting herself! For Carson, well, at first, I was really in the verge of falling for him, actually I think I did as early as the second chapter (and I really thought he could be a great addition to my book crushes), but right after when I got to the conflict part, I was heartbroken. Like he just shattered my dream man into bits and I really hate him for that. But as I read on, I just found myself aching for him (haha, I just sounded like I am Emma in this story eh? Lol). But still, he’’s not worthy to be added to my book crushes list, he just broke my heart!
I also love the fact that the author didn’t add a b*tch third party in this story, because usually when that happened, I easily get carried away and all I want is to wish myself to get inside the story and kill that b*tch myself. Haha, I’m not really that fan of a third party b*tch but I find it amusing for a third party j*rks haha.
I really wanted to give this story a 5-star rating, but there’s someone inside my head telling me that it isn’t enough, that the story isn’t enough when you compare it to the previous books I’ve read from her which was the Free Falling. That book really left me with a terrible hangover, this one though still has that effect on me but not as terrible as the latter.
