Kate Callaghan was able to make her mark in the Contemporary Romance genre. ‘Ms. Perfectly Fine’ is the first for her in this genre.
‘Ms. Perfectly Fine’ has come out at a moment where people are struggling for whatever reason and looking for an escape or something to make them feel good. This book was able to be that escape for me as I laughed, cried, and even went “Oh My God!”. With this book it’s not just a Contemporary Romance as Kate was able to add in a very small hint of mystery that grew bigger and bigger as the book went on.
One of the lead characters is Autumn Adler, who is a famous concert pianist. She is working on her comeback to the stage after a horrible accident. This accident has not only left her with scars on her body but mental scars as well. She is reminded daily of what she went through.
The other lead is Elijah Wells, who is a game designer that is currently working on a brand-new game. Elijah and Autumn meet as he has rented the bottom floor to the town house, and she doesn’t know about that until he moves this. This causes some big fireworks of course and can show the chemistry heating off the page with the fight they had when they first met. Of course, this fight has Elijah wanting to have another fight. He found her to be cute when they fought the first time and wanted to see her look like that again.
Here is a full description of ‘Ms. Perfectly Fine”:
Autumn wants the house, but Elijah wants her.
Autumn Adler, a famous concert pianist, is making her solo comeback to the stage after a tragic accident, and she can’t afford any distractions. Of all the things that could go wrong, she never expected her landlord to rent out the ground floor of her home to Elijah Wells – a game designer in the midst of building his own company. Autumn loves her townhouse, and she refuses to give it up. However, Elijah is equally stubborn. As the days pass, Autumn’s efforts to make him leave only further his desire to win her over. It seems as though neither can win this battle of wills.
Yet as Autumn’s showcase approaches, a seemingly innocent gift turns into something far more alarming. Can the two call a truce and figure out what’s going on? One house, two strangers, and a dark secret. What could go wrong?
Kate was able to give each character to life with the words she wrote. As you get to know each character you want to keep reading. The struggle that Autumn faces is hard for anyone to go through, but Kate was able to write this to show it not as a weakness but as a strength.
‘Ms. Perfectly Fine’ is for sure a sold 4.5 stars from me. It is a very beautifully written and enjoyable book. If you’re like me and love a good soundtrack she put together a playlist to go along with the book. These songs really go well with the book, and I can pick which scene I think it would be played if this was a movie. You can listen to this playlist on Spotify. This book was just released and is available wherever you get your books. If you would like a signed copy of her books just head to her website.
