REVIEW
I logged into the e-book catalog of my library and noticed the Big Library Read promoted heavily on the front page. Overdrive is the system the library uses to store their e-book’s. It’s used by a lot of libraries. I decided on the spur of the moment to take part.
I wasn’t impressed by Eyes on You. The main issues (and there are many). I had to wade through pages of pages of waffle about what the insipid characters were eating and wearing. Colour me tedious. The dialog was wooden and awkward constantly and the book is full of the most awful demeaning stereotypes. Successful women are ball breaking bitches. Blonde women are dumb as shit. Women in their late thirties are ugly, bedraggled skanky hounds. I couldn’t get invested in the main character Robin who’s so bland it made me want to puke. Grow a pair already and stop whining. Who’d want to stalk someone so dull? Eyes on You wasn’t the worst novel I’ve read but it was far from the best. When a novel needs to have the sub-heading a suspense novel you know it’s not going to be that great. There was nothing unique about this novel that made it stand out from the thousands similar published all the time. Eyes on You is forgettable and I probably won’t remember it next week. I didn’t know who the stalker was but the author didn’t make me care about anyone in this novel or what happened to them. Eyes on You was a huge disappointment.
