Synopsis

Snow flutters down in the charming southern town of Normal, Kentucky where nothing is normal.

Deep in the Daniel Boone National Forest Mae West and Hank Sharp’s first Christmas as a wedded couple. But as they deck their camper with boughs of holly, a chilly mystery unfolds.

Carter Yelland, local horse farm owner and the town’s go-to for festive reindeer, is found dead just as the Winter Festival gears up.

With recent tensions brewing – from severing ties with the city to the irate mayor and his hasty decisions to evict rental tenants and a shocking intention to trade in his beloved horses and reindeer for a real estate gamble – it’s clear that more than one person might have wanted him gone.

Mae, with the ever-resourceful Laundry Club ladies at her side, must sift through a list of suspects as vast as the Southern stars.

Amid twinkling lights, campfires, and the scent of evergreen, will they unravel the mystery before the holiday spirit is dampened?

Grab your coziest blanket and a mug of hot cocoa, because in Normal, this Christmas, it’s not just about the presents… it’s about uncovering the deadly secrets wrapped in tinsel.

My Thoughts

We are back in Normal, Kentucky for the Christmas season and nothing says Christmas more than a dead body and some reindeer.  Mae and the laundry club ladies find themselves on yet another case figuring out who killed the man behind the reindeer for the Winter Festival the town has.

This addition to the cozy mystery series really had me wondering who it was, and I was not expecting it to be not one but TWO people who ended up doing it.

The last book left us on a bit of a cliffhanger when Hank was called on his honeymoon with Mae to be an interim sheriff while Al (the current sheriff) was under investigation. We find out that Hank doesn’t have to be the sheriff, but he will do it if he is needed to help.

With Santa, Reindeer, and the holiday spirit this book is perfect for sitting next to that fireplace with the fire on and a cup of whatever you want to drink. This is a 4 ½ star book for me and with it being a cozy mystery there is no spice to it, but the book is one you won’t want to put down because the journey you go on is great.

This book was just released on Amazon and if you are a Kindle Unlimited member you can read this book for free as it’s included in your membership.  I really can’t wait to see what Tonya will do with Mae and the gang in the next book.
