Book Haul – May

By Jazmin-Jade

Book Haul

Now in my last book haul I said I would hold off buying more books for a couple of months and so far I held true to that! The four books (hahaha) that I have in this book haul today are ones that I have been given this month. Let me tell you it has been really difficult because there have been a few books I really want released this month but I have held off! No doubt when I break my book ban I am just going to go buy heaps of books again… Oh well thats future Jazz’s problem.

So my boyfriend and I have an agreement that every dollar I spend on him from food to petrol getting him places, he must spend said dollar on books for me. These are two of those books. Thank you!

Nana K. is going home–for an awesome TrapNest concert! She drags Nana O. along, convinced that somehow Ren will sense his ex-flame in the audience. But life is never that easy, and Nana O. isn’t sure if she even wants Ren back. As for Nana K., is she prepared for TrapNest to come down off the stage and into her life, or will her fan-girl attitude land her in a heap of trouble?

Thank you to Penguin for sending me this book!

Peyton, Sydney’s charismatic older brother, has always been the star of the family, receiving the lion’s share of their parents’ attention and—lately—concern. When Peyton’s increasingly reckless behavior culminates in an accident, a drunk driving conviction, and a jail sentence, Sydney is cast adrift, searching for her place in the family and the world. When everyone else is so worried about Peyton, is she the only one concerned about the victim of the accident?

Enter the Chathams, a warm, chaotic family who run a pizza parlor, play bluegrass on weekends, and pitch in to care for their mother, who has multiple sclerosis. Here Sydney experiences unquestioning acceptance. And here she meets Mac, gentle, watchful, and protective, who makes Sydney feel seen, really seen, for the first time.

The uber-popular Sarah Dessen explores her signature themes of family, self-discovery, and change in her twelfth novel, sure to delight her legions of fans.

Thank you Penguin for sending me this book!

Gone doesn’t mean forgotten.

When Alice Salmon died last year, the ripples were felt in the news, on the internet, and in the hearts of those who knew her best.

But the person who knows her most intimately isn’t family or a friend. Dr Jeremy Cook is an academic whose life has become about piecing together Alice’s existence in all its flawed and truthful reality.

For Cooke, faithfully recreating Alice’s life – through her diaries, emails and anything using her voice – is all-consuming. He does not know how deep his search will take him, or the shocking nature of what he will uncover…

So since my haul is rather dull this week I present to you a little something extra! This is some my book adventure during the month of April. Enjoy ~
