Indian buffet in Glasgow City Centre
Time for a lunch catch up and we were looking for something filling and quick. It had been a good few years since I had been to Bombay Blues Indian restaurant on Hope Street, that long ago I couldn't even remember if it was good or bad!
Bombay Blues is right across from Glasgow Central Railway Station with a bus stop right outside as well.
We had decided on the buffet lunch, £8.95 sounded like far too good a bargain to ignore. Greeted quickly and friendly and soon shown to a table.
A section of curries with two types of naan bread and two types of rice. Followed by a salad bar which also had spiced onions and a variety of dips for the starters. Then a dessert area with gulub jamuns, rice pudding and a carrot pudding. Next to this a selection of starters which included chicken chaat, chilli paneer, chicken wing Pakora and much more.
There was a Pakora marked vegetable crunch, I joked that it must be chip Pakora... and indeed it was!
The starters were good. A range of flavours with some quite spicy. Don't forget the poppadoms and spiced onions.
Butter chicken, chicken korma, tarka dali as as well as a lamb dish that was tasty but I can't remember the name! (Will just have to go back!)
An excellent value for money buffet especially for its location. Service was quick and friendly. The food, just what was needed. It isn't the most adventurous fit a buffet, but hey it's a buffet it has to keep everyone happy. We both enjoyed all the dishes we picked. My grandad would have loved the creamy rice pudding.
