This gorgeous Stearman belongs to airshow pilot Vicky Benzing and was one of the featured performers in this year’s Truckee Tahoe airshow. Introduced as a trainer aircraft in 1934, over 10,000 were built in the 30’s and 40’s and many survive today. Vicky’s Stearman was delivered in 1940 for military flight training use. In February of 1946 this airplane was sold from the War Assets Administration for $770.
