Smack in the center of Oregon lies Madras, home of the Erickson Aircraft Collection and the Airshow of the Cascades. This summer I was able to visit the collection and see the airshow while attending the Madras Air-2-Air Experience workshop. The EAC recently added this B-17 to their collection, where it was renamed the Madras Maiden. This example was manufactured by Lockheed-Vega and delivered to the U.S.A.A.F. in October 1944, then modified to be a “Pathfinder” variant for nighttime bombing. This is the only Pathfinder model in existence. Nikon D7100 w/18-200 mm, processed with Aperture.
