A Lufthansa Dreamliner is pushed back for departure from their hub at Frankfurt. This is one of only five Dreamliners that Lufthansa operates currently. The five aircraft were taken from a Hainan Airlines order, and will be transferred to Austrian Airlines. 34 new Dreamliners are on order with deliveries starting in 2025. With a typical capacity of 280 passengers and a range of 7,635 nautical miles, the -9 is a stretched variant of the -8 base model of the 787 family and entered service in 2014. Over 1,100 Dreamliners have been delivered of the 1,900 on order.
