Hainan Airlines began nonstop service between San Jose and Beijing in June 2015. They currently operate 25 of these 787-9 aircraft, which is the middle child of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner family. Hainan Airlines is also the first airline in China to be ranked as one of the seven 5-star airlines in the world. This aircraft wears special livery for the animated movie Kung Fu Panda.  The tail logo is a stylistic rendering of the golden Peng, a giant bird belonging to Chinese mythology that symbolizes great accomplishments.
