My second blog post of an El Al aircraft, taken during our landing rollout at SFO. There are currently twelve Dreamliners in the El Al fleet, with the first on entering service in August 2017. Most of El Al’s aircraft are named for Israeli cities, with the names located near the nose of the plane beneath the cockpit windows. This one is named Tel Aviv-jaffa. El Al is the only commercial airline to equip its planes with missile defense systems to protect its planes against surface-to-air missiles, and is considered one of the world’s safest airlines.  As of August 2018, 56% of all 787 orders are for the 787-9, with 363 deliveries.
