An Air Premia Boeing 787-9 on final approach to San Francisco. Founded in 2017, South Korean airline Air Premia describes itself as a “hybrid airline”, providing a higher level of service than low-cost airlines while having lower operating costs than larger, full-service airlines. Air Premia operates six of these Dreamliners with three more on order. The 787-9 is the second variant of the 787 family which entered service in 2014. Keeping the same wingspan as the 787-8, the -9 was lengthened and strengthened with a 20 ft longer fuselage. As of January 2025, 64% of all 787 orders are for the 787-9, with 650 deliveries.
