A BA Dreamliner decelerates with thrust reversers after landing at London Heathrow. In 1999, British Airways adopted the tailfin design “Chatham Dockyard Union Flag”, based on the Union Flag, originally intended to be used only on the Concorde. Airways operates a fleet of 37 Dreamliners of which 12 are these -8 models. With a typical capacity of 220 passengers and a range of 7,355 nautical miles, the -8 is the base model of the 787 family and entered service in 2011. Almost 1,100 Dreamliners have been delivered of the 1,800 on order.
