November 2024

Spotted this Japan Air Lines 777 at the gate as we taxied by after a nightttime arrival at Haneda International Airport in Tokyo.  JAL operates 12 of these extended range 777-300 aircraft, though plans are underway to retire them and replace them with the Airbus A350-1000 starting in 2025.  The 777-300ER features raked and extended wingtips, a strengthened fuselage and wings and a modified main landing gear.  The -300ER was the best-selling 777 variant with 831 delivered before production ended in 2024.
