Here is a 757 preparing for a dawn departure from SFO. First flown in 1982, United currently operates 40 of these narrow-body jets in their fleet. These domestic aircraft are slated for replacement with a combination of Boeing 737 MAX 10 and Airbus A321XLR types. United’s B757-200s were previously used by Continental and have an average age of 25 years, making them the second oldest type in United’s fleet.
