United Airlines recently sponsored “Her Art Here”, a contest focused on underrepresented women artists. The unique livery of this Boeing 757 was created by New Jersey native Corinne Antonelli as a tribute to the New York /New Jersey region. The plane spent 17 days in Amarillo, Texas getting painted with 10 colors, 250+ gallons of paint and approximately 4,100 hours of labor. First flown in 1982, United currently operates 54 of these narrow-body jets in their fleet. These domestic aircraft are slated for replacement with Boeing 737 MAX 10 type beginning in 2020.
