BA flight 284 soars 9,000 feet overhead, after a long ten hour flight from London, as it descends on the downwind leg for landing at SFO.  British Airways operates 36 of these older 747-400 aircraft, with plans to replace them with the Airbus A380 and A350 types. With close to 700 produced (1988-2009), the 747-400 is the best-selling model of the Boeing 747 family of airliners. Nikon D500 w/Tamron 150-600mm.
