A pair of Hawaiian 717s on the apron in front of their maintenance hangar.  Hawaiian 717s are named after birds, the one on the left is ʻApapane (Laysan Honeycreeper) while the one in the foreground is named ‘Ewa ‘Ewa (Sooty Tern).  Hawaiian operates 18 of these aircraft, servicing interisland travel.  The Boeing 717 airliner was designed and originally marketed by McDonnell Douglas as the MD-95, a derivative of the DC-9 family, prior to their 1997 merger.  First flown in 1998, 103 of the 155 built are still in service.
