Habaraduwa Police found the body of a woman in a deserted land near Rumassala rock on Saturday (5).
SSP in charge of Galle Division Sudath Masingha said that the identity of the woman has not been ascertained as yet.
He also said that a person who is said to have been in the company of the woman has been identified and taken into police custody for questioning.
It appears that the death of the woman occurred a few days ago. Police said that her underwear was also found nearby.
They said that the body will be sent for a post-mortem examination following a court order.
