It's hard for me not to think of a waterfall when I look at my latest abstract painting on paper. With deep blues in the center, moving out toward lighter blues to aqua against a parchment background, it feels like cascading water.
I painted this with an impressionist style, making small brushtrokes of color piled against and on top of each other to build up the image. Touches of cadmium yellow light and cadmium red light added highlights and interest.
