Bloom by @kevinpanetta

Now that high school is over, Ari is dying to move to the big city with his ultra-hip band-if he can just persuade his dad to let him quit his job at their struggling family bakery. Though he loved working there as a kid, Ari cannot fathom a life wasting away over rising dough and hot ovens. But while interviewing candidates for his replacement, Ari meets Hector, an easy-going guy who loves baking as much as Ari wants to escape it. As they become closer over batches of bread, love is ready to bloom . . . that is, if Ari doesn't ruin everything.

I really enjoyed Bloom. I don't read a lot of graphic novels so it was nice to get stuck into something a little different. As far as graphic novels go, I liked the artwork for this one and the use of colour. I liked Ari and Hector's relationship and how this develops through Hector's love of baking and Arti's desire to find someone to take over for him at his parents bakery so he can move away. It's sweet. They're friends at first but clearly something deeper is going on. Ari is very awkward and unsure of himself which was adorable. This is a sweet, feel-good romance. I enjoyed it and would recommend it.
