Story: BloodRayne 2 starts as we head to the wild west as a vampire Billy the Kid (Ward) takes over the town of Deliverance. Unlikely most of his vampire hunts, he turns the town and holds the children, hostage. Meanwhile, Rayne (Malthe) learns her friends have gone missing and heads into the town with Pat Garrett (Pare).
Once in the town, Rayne finds herself clashing with Billy as she learns his bigger plan. She must work with the other fellow members of the area that haven’t been turned in to stop what could cause devastation to America.
Verdict on BloodRayne 2
BloodRayne 2 is the second adventure into Rayne, the half-human, half-vampire. This time she is in the wild west clashing with Billy the Kid and his vampire friends. It looks to show her stopping a bigger plan while not having as big of an active presence.
This is another one of these sequels in name only, it does bring a character back. However, the events of the last movie have no connection to what we are seeing now. We have the same formula of Rayne teaming up with resistance against a bigger threat, using her skills to beat them. There is nothing truly new to this and the idea of mixing in the real legends of Billy the Kid and Pat Garrett does feel like lazy writing too.
Final Thoughts – BloodRayne 2 is a simple cash-in sequel.
