With winter right around the corner, it’s safe to say my skin is ready for me to whip out my favorite skin care products. Winter weather always dries out my skin, especially my hands, around my nose, and even my feet! To remedy this issue, I turn to my winter skin care favorites. I will probably post a night time skin care routine sometime this Blogmas, but I make no promises. To start, I will share the products I use instead! Check them out below and let me know some of your favorite products this upcoming season.
- Witch Hazel – Okay, so confession… I use this every single day no matter what season. I wanted to mention it regardless. When I was a young girl, my grandmother told me to essentially bathe in witch hazel. “It will prevent wrinkles,” she used to say. Well, I trust that woman more than anyone, so you better believe I use witch hazel twice a day. I focus on my face, neck, and décolleté when applying witch hazel with a cotton pad. What’s great about witch hazel is it can be used for almost everything. I use it when I have a bug bite, minor cuts, and as a toner. To put it simply, witch hazel is a skin-healing astringent, perfect for acne, blisters, minor skin ailments, and anti-aging.

BFF: Best Face Forever – BFF is my (new) all time favorite exfoliating face wash, especially this time of year. Honestly, I love this stuff. I believe I wrote about it in a blog post a while ago, but it deserves more attention. As I said, cold weather dries out my skin. Instead of exfoliating with a harsh scrub as I normally would (St. Ive’s Apricot Scrub is the best), I have to tone it down with a scrub that is less harsh, but still works for me. My favorite ingredient of the BFF face scrub is the Aloe Vera. By restoring moisture to my face, the Aloe can improve my damaged skin. This scrub also has some peppermint, which is lovely in the morning. Peppermint and the holiday season go hand-in-hand if you ask me!
- RoC Eye Cream – I know I am only 24, but the best way to avoid wrinkles is through preventative treatment. I typically use whatever my mom uses because I am still learning what products I like in this department. Right now, I am loving the RoC Eye Cream with Retinol and essential mineral complex. Over the summer, I used an eye cream by the Ulta Brand. Unfortunately, I gave it a shot and it did not impress me. New season, new product, right? I will update you all on the RoC eye cream at the end of the winter months!

Carmex Lip Balm – This technically may not count for skin care (does it?), but I had to share my favorite cold weather lip product. Carmex has, and always will, be my go to product this time of year. It is the best when you plan to spend several hours outdoors with harsh winds and cold temperatures. When snowboarding, I find it is most helpful!
- Cool Your Sole Foot Balm – Anyone else get dry feet this time of year? Can we please bring back the warm weather and beach trips!? My favorite remedy for dry feet is to apply a foot balm before bed. I usually focus on problem areas like my heels, but if I am in the mood, I will just spread the balm all over my feet. This foot balm has beeswax, peppermint oil, rosemary oil, and vitamin E. Finding a thick balm with beeswax is ideal, because it doesn’t clog your pores!
Skin care is always important. I find that it is especially important during the cold weather seasons, though. I highly recommend investing in products that work well with your body and needs. My favorite all over skin lotion is still being determined. As of now, I use Bath & Body Works products, but am searching for something better. Any suggestions? Lather up, stay warm, and happy holidays!
xoxo,
Kristin
