What is your blog about? About the lifestyle and politics of the port city of Fremantle in Western Australia
What inspired you to start your blog? I wanted to create an outlet for the community to participate in, promote events and new businesses and scrutinize council.
When did you start your blog? In October 2010
How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running? I aim to write at least one blog post each day and as a professional photographer I love taking photos of my city. There is always something going on in Freo, as we call Fremantle.
What do you find the most frustrating aspect of blogging? That most comments are negative and don’t help to find solutions for the issues Fremantle is dealing with. I prefer more constructive criticism of Council and being part of the solution.
In the future where do you hope your blog will take you? The blog is already the most popular one of Fremantle as it touches all elements of our community, but it would be nice to make some money as it is a labor of love that requires several hours a day.
Have you met anyone interesting/famous on your blogging journey? Fremantle is full with quirky, alternative and interesting people, so there is no shortage of that. We’ve got great musicians like John Butler living here as well as authors like Tim Winton.
If you could do only ‘one thing’ today then what would it be?
Today I will go to the free courtyard music summer session in the Fremantle Arts Centre. It is a fantastic community event with live music, pizza oven, a bar and young and old can sit under the trees at the stunning heritage building and enjoy our beautiful summer.
