What is your blog about?Polished Purposeful Pretty is an online hub for everything cool about parenthood. Kids Fashion, Home styling, Personal parenthood posts and more. We introduce up and coming  brands we adore for kids, parents and the home with a particular focus on mums in business – we are softies for small business!

What inspired you to start your blog?

I have always been fascinated with webdesign, so I began playing around with my first blog 5 years ago which was really a platform for me to vent and share my story. When I became a mom 2.5 years ago I decided it was time to launch a new blog that could encompass all the things my previous blog did and my parenthood journey. I started getting a lot of positive feedback from other mums on a similar journey that really resonated with and were inspired by my blog, however I didn’t have the skills to take this blog to the next level! So with a lot of self taught experience I finally decided to build PPPparenthood this year. It is such a lovely thing to connect with parents all over the globe, and I thoroughly enjoy sharing my experiences.

When did you start your blog?  polishedpurposefulpretty.com was officially launched less than two months ago!

How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running?

It is incredibly difficult to find the time let alone the motivation to post consistent and quality content with a two year old and a three month old at home. We live interstate from all of our family so we have very little support – I find that after the kids (and usually Daddy) are in bed is the best time to work on my content and social media. This obviously isn’t ideal but its easy to stay up past midnight when you are absolutely passionate about what you do!

What do you find the most frustrating aspect of blogging?

Building up a following is always the hardest part. I have launched a few blogs over the years and I find that the first 6 months is always the hardest and most frustratingbecause you are focusing on building your following whilst still trying to stay true to yourself and your content. Rather than the part that I love, sharing stories and interacting with myfabulous readers! If your family and friends are willing to support you by sharing your content it can be a really big help to get the word out there and introduce a taste of your content to people that may not have found you without that support.

In the future where do you hope your blog will take you?

I am looking at formally studying graphic design when my youngest is a bit older. I am in love with Children’s Fashion, lettering, brush typography, screen printing and front end web design so In the Future I hope to encompass these skills and perhaps design my own unique children’s fashion label. I actually completed a full business plan for my own label prior to having children, so I hope to fulfill that dream.

But for now I am really enjoying working on my blog and supporting other Mums in business! I believe that you get out what you put in, in life and if I help out the businesses that I truly love now, when I am in the same position in a few years I will have their support!

Have you met anyone interesting/famous on your blogging journey?

I have been lucky enough to (virtually) meet some wonderful and very talented bloggers and Business mums. I always try to get in contact with the owners of blogs I absolutely adore and look up to as mentors. Some of these include. Helen Edwards –Recycled Interior, Yvette Wilson – The Stylist Splash and Tara Hayes – All About Her! These Inspirational Women are famous in my eyes and incredibly interesting, and they have all been wonderful supports for me launching my blog perhaps without even realizing how important they have been!

If you could do only ‘one thing’ today then what would it be?

Take my Babies to a beach somewhere warm! – I know I should be thinking work-wise but we live in country Victoria, in I swear the coldest place on earth! It can be very isolating and miserable being stuck inside all day, everyday. We have never all been to the beach together and I practically grew up on a beach! It’s killing me!
