Unaware that the Great War has ended, Stan (Stan Laurel) remains faithfully at his post for twenty years — until he shoots down a private plane, angering its pilot. Delighted to learn that Stan is alive, his best friend Ollie (Oliver Hardy) rescues him from the Soldiers’ Home and takes him to meet his wife. Stan is amazed and enthralled by the many modern conveniences that have sprung up in the world, and the best friends proceed to unwittingly wreak havoc on Ollie’s apartment and neighbors.
