Curry had been playing on a four-year, $44 million contract, an extension that he signed when there were grave concerns about the sturdiness of his ankles.
According to Ann Killion of the San Francisco Chronicle, the Warriors have jumped in value from $450 million when the team was bought by owner Joe Lacob in 2010 to $2.6 billion in the present. This represents an increase in value of over two billion dollars in just seven years, and Curry played a big part in that growth.
